Fearless Predictions - Copa America - Day 13

The quarterfinals are set at the Copa America and now we can finally have some fun. Both Brazil and Argentina have been paired on opposite sides of the bracket, so even though they have had their difficulties in the group stage, the dream final is still a possibility. So, let's get to today's quarterfinals.

Day 13

Colombia - Peru

Peru have been playing above their class thus far at the Copa America and will be taking on Group A winners Colombia in the first quarterfinal. Honestly, conventional wisdom calls for a comfortable Colombian victory but I will not be surprised if Peru can pull off one more upset. The key for Colombia is to use their skill and technical ability from the wings to attack Peru's fullbacks. On the other hand, if Peru can grab an early goal I am not sure if the Colombians can recover from the early setback.

Colombia - Peru (2-1)

Argentina - Uruguay

Honestly, many did not expect Argentina and Uruguay to meet so soon at the Copa America, however, both teams have under performed so far at the Copa America. Both Argentina and Uruguay have won the Copa America 14 times, that is ridiculous. So, what is the key to the match? If Uruguay can squeeze the pressure on Argentina's back four through Forlan and Suarez then they definately have more than a fighter's chance. Argentina, with the inclusion of Higuain and Aguero, have discovered their attacking rhythm and as long as Messi is well Messi, than they are still very strong up front.

Argentina - Uruguay (2-0)

Fearless Predictions
7-11
