Messi . . . The Amazing Goalkeeper?

From my favorite defender in the world, Carles Puyol of Barcelona, if you factor in his stunning good looks and physical style of play, comes this incredible picture of Lionel Messi in net. Victor Valdes should probably be getting nervous. He doesn't look too bad, does he? What do you think?

The Champions League Final - In Pictures

The Champions League final yesterday was a spectacle for attacking and fluid football. Barcelona controlled the majority of the game and were able to minimize Manchester United's attacking threat, by limiting them to one shot on target. Below is a fantastic collection of pictures from the match, as always enjoy!

UEFA Champions League Power Poll - Edition #4

After the first leg in all the quarter-final matches of the Champions League, it can easily be argued that the contenders separated themselves from the pretenders. With an incredible 18 goals in the first leg, scoring was definitely not at a premium. So here we go with the latest edition of the Posts By Panos Power Poll.

In an attempt to drive up the traffic to Posts By Panos, we are proud to present the latest gimmick, Justin Bieber. Of course there is a football connection as the pint-sized Canadian was filmed training with Barcelona, yes he was training with Barcelona. Unbelievable and completely ridiculous. Enjoy, well not really enjoy, the video after the jump.

UEFA Champions League Power Poll - Edition #2

The first legs of all the Champions League matches have been completed and it is time to update the Posts By Panos Power Poll. Many of the first legs were tight and nervy affairs with the home teams looking not to concede rather than play for the victory. This usually happens in the first leg, so hopefully the second legs will be open and free-flowing matches with plenty of goals. Regardless, it is the Champions League and you are still going to watch regardless. Onto the Power Poll!

UEFA Champions League Power Poll

Many people have argued that the World Cup is football's greatest tournament because of the passion and pageantry of the entire spectacle. This might as well be true, as no other competition encapsulates international pride for one's country like the World Cup. However, the best football tournament in the world is the UEFA Champions League. The simple reason is that the quality of football is simply better.

Teams like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Arsenal and Manchester United cultivate and develop a playing style that is passed throughout the organization from the youngest of youth teams to the senior squads. Their squads are developed not in a two-week training period before a tournament but rather over the course of a footballing generation.

Greek Fans . . . Simply The Best

Below is a video taken from yesterday's Barcelona - Panathinaikos Champions League match. Barca routed the Greeks 3-0, eliminating the Greek champions from any European competition. The video highlights just how crazy Greek fans are and what they really think of Lionel Messi. Really, what's the point and is that how you treat the World Player of the Year. (Also the title of this post, sarcasm kids . . . we need to grow up)

Ronaldinho Tribute By Barcelona

Barcelona took on AC Milan in a friendly match at the Nou Camp to decide the Gamper Trophy. The match was irrelevant and was treated as such with both teams fielding weaker than usual teams with the start of their domestic campaigns a couple of days away. However, the match was Ronaldinho's first trip back to the Nou Camp and he was treated to a hero's reception by the Barcelona faithful. After the jump is the tribute video prepared by the Barcelona football club. The match ended 1-1, and was won on penalties by Barcelona 3-1.
