EPL Fearless Predictions - Round #20

Congratulations football fans . . . we are at the halfway point of the EPL season. Before we get to the weekend matches, let me wish everyone one of you a Happy New Year and a joyous and prosperous 2013. Let's keep this going for at least another year!

Sunderland - Tottenham (2-1)
This game always reminds me of two good friends in Dubai who have a running wager on which team will finish higher in the league. So while Spurs will finish in the top 6, I have to give some love to Sunderland as for one week hold the bragging rights not only in England but also in Dubai.

Aston Villa - Wigan (2-0)
Villa have allowed 12 goals in their past two games; that is simply not good. So thankfully Wigan visits Villa Park and the home team are able to secure three points and a shutout.

Fulham - Swansea (1-1)
Fulham's Dimitar Berbatov is quickly becoming of my favorite players in the EPL not necessarily because of his silky smooth footballing prowess but because of wit . . . case in point the shirt he revealed after scoring a goal last week. So with that in mind Berba will score again and secure a solitary point for the Cottagers.

Manchester United - West Brom (2-1)
When you looked at this fixture at the beginning of the year, you probably marked down a comfortable three points for United, but not so fast my friends. West Brom have been playing very well and will make life difficult for the league leaders. At the end of the day, a late Chicharito header will grab United the victory.

Norwich - Manchester City (0-2)
If City drop points against Norwich, we might as well congratulate United as this season's champions. Therefore, City bounce back and score two first half goals to ease past the Canaries.

Reading - West Ham (2-1)
Does everyone remember my rule when dealing with two teams that you don't know much about? Pick the home team by a solitary goal and see what happens.

Stoke City - Southampton (2-0)
Stoke ride the momentum from their victory against Liverpool and score two goals against a Saints team that is simply not deep enough to play 3 games in 10 days.

Arsenal - Newcastle (3-2)
Newcastle showed some life in their defeat at Old Trafford and were probably unlucky not to grab a point. However, Arsenal have been playing better and will nick the winning goal against the boys in black and white.

Everton - Chelsea (2-2)
This is a big match for both Everton and Chelsea in their quest for Champions League football in 2013. A victory for Everton gives them the confidence to battle and play with some of the Premier Leagues quote in quote bigger teams, while a victory for Chelsea continues the Benitez revolution. Therefore, book a draw.

QPR - Liverpool (3-5)
I just have a feeling that goals will be scored in this game. QPR have a pathetic defense while at times Liverpool just can't get out of their own way. However, talent does prevail and Liverpool gets the three points.

EPL Fearless Predictions - Round #14

Midweek matches are a staple of late November and December in the EPL. It also marks the busiest period of the year for football in England. It should be fun so let's get started with the mid-week fearless predictions.

Sunderland - QPR (1-1)
The Harry Redknapp revolution begins with a point and not a loss as QPR score a late goal to send Martin O'Neill to the brink of resignation.

Aston Villa - Reading (2-1)
Paul Lambert's men played resiliently against Arsenal to grab a deserved point. One would only assume that they should be able to grab three points against Reading, right?

Southampton - Norwich (2-0)
Two teams battling in the relegation zone means that I usually choose the home team, so back the Saints for the victory.

Tottenham - Liverpool (4-2)
There will be goals in this game, I believe that. Even though Liverpool are undefeated in their last 5 or so games, Tottenham have too much going forward to keep that streak intact.

Stoke - Newcastle (1-0)
Stoke at home on a cold night in November is a lock, book it . . . pay the player.

Swansea - West Brom (2-1)
West Brom's run ends in Wales. I am a big fan of the Swans and think they do enough to hold off the onslaught from the Midlands.

Chelsea - Fulham (3-0)
Rafa's first home game did not go according to plan, you know with the booing and the what not. So, let's see how Round #2 goes. Torres grabs his first for the new boss and Chelsea romp.

Arsenal - Everton (2-0)
Arsenal on the road is a frustrating encounter having spent 90 minutes watching the Gunners struggle against Aston Villa. But at home they are a different team and I expect a professional job against Everton.

Manchester United - West Ham (4-1)
United have fallen behind in most of their matches this season, the trend continues but a quick four in the second half ensure that the Red Devils get the victory.

Wigan - Manchester City (1-2)
Still undefeated City will have a tougher time than expected at Wigan, but will still sneak away with three points.
