Rebuilding Fan Loyalty At Toronto FC

Let's just lay out the cards for everyone; it has been a horrendous start to the regular season for Toronto FC. Winless in five games, yet to score a goal at home, things are as close to bottom for the club. Fans in Toronto are frustrated by not only the lack of success of Toronto FC, but by another season without the playoffs for the Toronto Maple Leafs and another lost season for the Toronto Raptors. Not quite at the same level as Buffalo or Cleveland, but Toronto is becoming a tortured sports city.

TFC Tidbits - March 28, 2012

What a difference four days make? Fresh off a lifeless and arguably pathetic performance against the San Jose Earthquakes, TFC bounces back with a passionate, dogged and determined effort against the top team in Mexico, Santos Laguna, in the first leg of the CONCACAF Champions League semifinals.

The Final 15 For The TFC Dream Job

I have jumped all-in with Toronto FC's dream job competition. There I said it. Maybe it is because I have been a season ticket holder since Day 1, but I truly have a strong interest in the competition. So for all the readers of this small endeavor, here is a look at the final 15 for the TFC Dream Job.

My Take On The TFC Dream Job

Earlier this month the Toronto Football Club, TFC to the locals, embarked on a rather curious endeavor of hiring a fan for a position within their sales and marketing group. The winner would be given a 'talent contract' and this person would become the face of the club. However, over the course of the last couple of weeks the contest has had its fair share of controversy and sparked heated debate across the interwebs with the TFC faithful. So what do I think? Well here we go . . .

Toronto FC . . . Meet The Ewing Theory

This afternoon, on April Fool's Day no less, Toronto FC traded the face of their franchise in Dwayne De Rosario for young and upcoming midfielder Tony Tchani, left-back Danleigh Borman and a 2012 first round SuperDraft pick. At first many across the Twitter Universe claimed that the trade was a farce and an attempt by TFC brass to highlight their prowess with the April holiday. However, as the afternoon materialized more and more of the media began to catch wind that this trade was actually in the works and eventually Toronto FC officially announced the trade at around 6:00 p.m. And just like that boom goes the dynamite.

A Week Late To The Toronto FC Party

This Saturday I will be making my season debut at Toronto FC's BMO Field. For all of those who remember my playing days at the Peninsula Fields, Varsity Stadium, Thunderbird Backfield and Scottsdale Sporting Complex I will not be replacing Stefan Frei in net. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on who you talk to, I have retired.

New Toronto FC Jerseys - Authentic Version

On Tuesday, Posts By Panos brought you the new Toronto FC jerseys, well here is the authentic version of the jersey. As you can tell the major differences from the replica are the embossed maple leaf on the front, the Canadian flag on the left sleeve and the MLS logo on the right sleeve. Furthermore, the club motto, 'All For One' is on the back of the jersey. In my opinion, I am a big fan of the embossed maple leaf. What are your thoughts? Enjoy the pics after the jump.

New Toronto FC Jerseys

Last week we brought you the new Canadian national team jerseys and based on the initial reactions, many are disappointed. A couple days ago I was searching for the new Toronto FC jersey and what do you know but the replicas are available on the MLS Shop site. I am a little disappointed that these images have been released without a proper launch, but perhaps that is coming when the authentic jerseys are released. Regardless enjoy the new jerseys after the jump. In my opinion, I like the dark grey sleeves, but would have preferred red shoulders and only the sleeves gray, but hey what can you do?

Toronto FC Acquire Nathan Sturgis

Toronto FC have announced the acquisition of Nathan Sturgis from the Vancouver Whitecaps in exchange for a first round draft pick, the 8th overall draft pick. Sturgis was acquired in the expansion draft by Vancouver from the Seattle Sounders who left him unprotected.

The MLS Cup . . . The Day After

A day after the MLS Cup and I am still cold. Even though I was fully draped in a Canada Goose jacket, toque, gloves and fully liquidated with a couple cold beverages it was a cold and windy night at BMO Field in Toronto. Most of you who follow football are familiar that the Colorado Rapids won the big trophy at the end courtesy of a 2-1 victory over FC Dallas due to an own goal from George 'Lil' John in extra time. But here are five key take-aways from the game.

MLS Cup In Toronto - Convincing Friends To Attend

COLORADO! DALLAS! SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! MLS CUP EXCITEMENT ONLY IN TORONTO! CATCH THE MADNESS, CATCH THE TASTE! SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!

My friend and I have five tickets to this Sunday's MLS Cup Final at BMO Field. The game features the Colorado Rapids, champions of the Eastern Conference, yeah it makes no sense to me either, against FC Dallas, champions of the Western Conference. Both teams have never won the MLS Cup so a first time winner will emerge from BMO Field on Sunday night. The game should be a showcase event for the MLS, but I have to be honest, no one cares in Toronto and that's a shame.

The Voice Of The Unofficial Toronto FC Supporter

There is no doubt that I am a fan of football. I grew up surrounded by the sport, passed down from one generation to the next. I have already stated that I believe that my blood is yellow due to my allegiances to a Greek football club that is as part of my family as, if we had a dog, the family dog.

Thoughts On TFC From Rohan Ricketts

I remember playing Football Manager in the early 2000s and with whatever team I was playing with I would always grab Rohan Ricketts on a cheap transfer. Able to play the wing, Ricketts was a fantastic addition to my computer simulated squad. Regardless, Rohan found himself as a member of Toronto FC in 2008 and I found myself watching a player, who I had purchased in a video game, play mere feet away from me at BMO Field. Over time it became evident that Rohan Ricketts was much more than just a football player, but also a cultured, intelligent voice that provided fans an inside look towards the business of football. After the jump, is a great read on Rohan's thoughts on the current situation at TFC with his own suggestions. Enjoy!

Toronto FC - Arabe Unido

The fellas at Toronto FC Television put this highlight pack together illustrating the diving and rolling around that occurred in the Concacaf Champions League match last Tuesday against Arabe Unido. I cannot truly describe how amazing this video is and the music just adds that something extra. Ahhh, the joke of Concacaf continues . . . .

TFC - NYRB Quick Hitter

After yesterday's thrashing at the hands of the New York Red Bulls, Toronto FC find themselves outside the playoff picture and will need to start picking up points on the road to give themselves at a shot at the playoffs. Regardless BMO Field is still the best play to watch an MLS match and have the best fans, even though they were slightly subpar in comparison to Tuesday's CCL match against Cruz Azul. Furthermore, the reception for ex-TFC player Carl Robinson was class and the fact that he did not celebrate his goal further illustrates his own level of class. Anyways, here is a picture from the game with Anthony, Yasir and myself.
