Fearless Predictions - Women's World Cup - Day 9

It appears as if my Fearless Predictions for Day of the Women's World Cup did not post before my flight home from New York City. Regardless, here they are.

Canada's head coach Carolina Morace instructs her team during training at the Women's Soccer World Cup in Dresden, Germany on Monday.

Day 9

England - Japan

Japan are fresh off a thrashing of Mexico and should be considered slight favorites for the tilt against an underwhelming England. Regardless, I can see this game ending as a draw with Japan progressing as the group winner.

England - Japan (1-1)

Mexico - New Zealand

Mexico still have an outside shot at reaching the knockout stage if they win their match against New Zealand while Japan must beat England. Therefore, I can see them grabbing the iniative against New Zealand, but the might not have the talent to keep the advantage in their favor, so again another draw.

Mexico - New Zealand (1-1)

Canada - Nigeria

So far this World Cup has been the ultimate disappointment for Canada. The key for them is if they can bounce back in a game that means absolutely nothing. I have my doubts to be honest, but then again they have a chance against Nigeria, so why not, three points for the Maple Leafs.

Canada - Nigeria (2-0)

Germany - France

Germany, although they have won their first two matches, have, honestly, underwhelmed. I think the goals will flow in this game against the French, who do have their frailties at the back. But you never know as the French have been playing phenomenal attacking football.

Germany - France (3-1)

Fearless Predictions
13-3
