EPL Round #15 Fearless Predictions

This is going to a fantastic weekend in sports. The NBA free-agency frenzy is in full effect, David Stern is vetoing trades, Albert Pujols left the St. Louis Cardinals and signed with the Angels, MLSE was sold to the Canadian equivalent of AT&T and Verizon in a joint bid, and this weekend we have on tap another edition of El Classico. So let's get to it with this week's fearless predictions.

Arsenal - Everton (2-0)
Arsenal played the kids during the midweek Champions League clash in Athens, so the full squad will be rested for the match against Everton. Therefore, the goals will come for RVP and Arsenal will grab a deserved victory.

Liverpool - QPR (3-1)
Liverpool play up and down based on their opposition. However, the trend needs to come to an abrupt halt if Liverpool are going to contend for a Champions League place, so let's go with a 'Pool victory.

Manchester United - Wolverhampton (4-0)
United were embarrassed in their midweek adventure to Switzerland and were subsequently dumped out of the Champions League, so expect a thorough pounding of Wolves at Old Trafford.

Bolton - Aston Villa (1-1)
Both teams deserve to be mid-table, both teams do not play attractive football, nobody should watch this game . . . so let's just assume that they will end the game the way they started it, tied.

Norwich City - Newcastle (2-2)
The gauntlet is over for Newcastle, at least for the time being, and after their unlucky defeat at home to Chelsea, I think they will at least settle for a point at Carrow Road.

West Brom - Wigan (2-1)
Wigan will not be able to win their second road game in a row at West Brom. Albion, on the other hand, need to start capitalizing on their home fixtures and should go for the three points.

Swansea City - Fulham (2-0)
Clint Dempsey is the heart of Fulham, he inspires the club from London but I do not see him replicating his heroics from last Monday against Liverpool and Swansea will take advantage with two goals to the good.

Sunderland - Blackburn (2-0)
Let's prematurely congratulate Martin O'Neill for his first victory as the boss of Sunderland against an equally struggling Blackburn. Sunderland need this victory or else they are in serious trouble moving forward.

Stoke City - Tottenham (1-2)
Peter Crouch gets his first opportunity to go against another team that dumped him in the transfer market as he leads his Stoke City against Spurs. However, Spurs are on such a roll in the domestic campaign that they still will get the victory away from home.

Chelsea - Manchester City (2-1)
For some reason I think Chelsea will hand City their first loss of the season. City will be reeling from their Champions League exit and will not have the mental fortitude to bounce back against a desperate Chelsea side.

OVERALL RECORD
75-64
