EPL Quick Hitters

With the EPL kicking off in a couple hours, here are a couple fearless predictions:

Top Four:
Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City

I believe in the vision set out by the French maestro Arsene Wegner and with Cesc Fabregas staying for one more year, this could finally be the year for the Gunners. Plus, they play the most beautiful football in the premiership. In my opinion, the signing of Mark Schwarzer would be the final piece for the squad as they chase their first trophy since the 2005 FA Cup.

Manchester United and Chelsea are both a year older and their signings are more geared to the future rather than the present. Even though everyone in North America is going gaga over Javier Hernandez, I see him being a year away from making a difference in the EPL. Furthermore, remember that the number 14 is cursed at Old Trafford.

Chelsea are a step slow, thank you John Terry. With the sale of Ricardo Carvalho to Real Madrid, I believe that Chelsea lack the depth in defense to deal with the strike force of some of the top teams in the EPL. Furthermore, I just do not trust John Terry and truly believe that as he is gaining in years he is slowing down tremendously.

Manchester City have added enormous talent and are about a year or two away from truly contending for the title. Furthermore, chemistry cannot be constructed overnight and Roberto Mancini has a giant task in front of him, considering the weight of expectations bestowed upon him.

Bottom Three:
Blackpool, Wigan, West Bromwich Albion

Simply put, they do not have enough talent and are going to struggle for survival.

Top Goalscorer:
Didier Drogba

Best Signing Of the Season:
Joe Cole & Marouane Chamakh

Worse Signing Of The Season:
Mario Balotelli
