With a week before the FIBA Basketball Championships in Turkey, Greece hosted the Acropolis Tournament, a friendly tournament between the hosts and three teams that will be participating in the championships. In this year`s edition Greece invited Canada, Slovenia and Serbia to participate. Today`s was the final day of games for all four teams and let`s just say things got heated between Greece and Serbia. Check out the video after the jump. As they say in Greece Το ξύλο της αρκούδας....
In my opinion, both teams are at fault but Nenad Krstic is a bum, plain and simple. First of all, he did the manly thing and stand over a Greek player and punch him repeatedly in the back. Finally, when confronted by Sofoklis Schortsanitis, `Baby Shaq,` Nenad started heading backwards and looked for his favorite weapon, the steel chair. Upon reaching the steel chair and not having the back of a Greek player to wail on, our boy Nenad threw the chair into the crowd and did not care if it reached a Greek or Serbian player. Good work Nenad! The tournament was called with 5 minutes left to play in the game with Greece leading 74-73. Great times, I am looking forward to this tournament, but thankfully TSN in Canada is just showing the Canadian games and the semi-finals and finals on tape delay. Good work TSN, you sorry excuse for a sports station.
