Charles Barkley Being Charles Barkley

With March Madness about to begin next week, most of us will be feverishly filling out brackets trying to win our tournament office pool. But let me remind you that you won't win, the cute girl in human resources who picked her teams based on colors, logos and mascots will take home the prize, guaranteed. Or maybe it is the guy in IT who joined the pool just because you needed the numbers takes home the prize.

This year the tournament, in the United States, will be shown on TNT, TBS, TruTV and CBS, marking the first time there has been a collaboration between two television networks to ensure that every game will be available on national TV. In Canada, the games are supposedly going to be shown on TSN and TSN2 in their entirety. However, if the Maple Leafs are playing the Hurricanes I am sure we all know who will get the preferential treatment.

Regardless, it is an exciting time of the year to be a sports fan as March not only sees the tournament but the conclusions of the NHL and NBA seasons, coupled with UEFA Champions League action and of course the intensifying of the domestic leagues throughout Europe. Oh and let's not forget the beginning of the MLS season, I am sure the three to five MLS fans will appreciate the shout out.

Below, I present to you a clip from yesterday's NBA on TNT coverage where Charles Barkley decides to give Billy Packer the business. Billy Packer used to be the main color commentator for CBS' NCAA coverage, and has spoken out against the new television format for the NCAA tourney. He feels that using NBA commentators and the TNT NBA crew will diminish the college product. Let's be honest, Billy Parker is a whiny old dinosaur who is still bitter that he lost his job two years ago. Therefore, I take great pleasure in Barkley's response, so enjoy below!
