EPL Round #29 Fearless Predictions

To the loyal followers of Posts By Panos please accept my apologies for the lack of activity this week. In turns out I was called to perform jury duty and was sequestered in the finest of Toronto's 1970s styled court rooms. Regardless let's get to some fearless predictions and as always be sure to enjoy the matches and not use my 'expert' advice as a means to expand your bank account. Onto the picks!

Birmingham City - West Brom (2-0)
Let's remind everyone of this . . . Birmingham City are the current Carling Cup Champions, just amazing. So let's continue the good times and predict a comfortable home victory for Birmingham.

Arsenal - Sunderland (2-1)
Arsenal can cut Manchester United's lead to a single point with a victory at home against the Black Cats and I expect them to go about their business with goals from Nasri and Chamakh.

Newcastle - Everton (1-1)
Everton blew an enormous opportunity to advance in the FA Cup with a home loss to Reading and it just continues the up and down play that has plagued the Toffees all season. Expect a draw between two teams that appear to be stuck in the middle of the table.

West Ham - Stoke City (2-0)
West Ham will continue their climb up the table with another home victory against Stoke and will be led by the midfield tandem of Parker and Hitzleberger.

Bolton - Aston Villa (1-1)
Just a horrendous display by Aston Villa during the FA Cup match against Manchester City. Why would Houllier play a youthful squad in the only competition where Villa can actually challenge for a trophy? However, the gamble will not pay off for Villa as they will be held to a draw at Bolton.

Fulham - Blackburn (2-1)
Mark Hughes has transformed Fulham into his playing style and I see the Londoners grabbing a vital three points in this match-up against Blackburn.

Manchester City - Wigan (4-1)
Manchester City threw away three points in their previous league match against Fulham and will come out with guns blazing and aptly trounce Wigan by a large scoreline.

Liverpool - Manchester United (2-1)
Consistently the Liverpool - United derby is one of the EPL's best matches during the season, and I expect nothing less in this showcase. Buoyed by King Kenny's birthday Suarez and Gerrard will lead the Reds to a victory against United in which Sir Alex will manage to blame everyone but his team for the loss.

Wolverhampton - Tottenham (2-0)
I like Wolves, I really do and I expect them to play a spirited match against Spurs, who will have their eyes on their Champions League match against Milan and might find motivation limited in this game.

Blackpool - Chelsea (1-3)
Chelsea, some might argue, did not deserve their victory against Manchester United, but they will finally open up the offense and grab the goals and the victory away to Blackpool.

Everton - Birmingham City (2-0)
Everton will bounce back from their weekend disappointment with a comfortable home victory against Birmingham who will struggle away from home.

OVERALL RECORD
139-138
