TFC Tidbits - March 24, 2012

After each Toronto FC game, PBP will provide 5 quick hitters on the match, the atmosphere and anything else that occurred at BMO Field.

Chris Wondolowski of San Jose Earthquakes, centre, celebrates a goal against Toronto FC in at BMO Field March 24, 2012 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Toronto FC - San Jose Earthquakes (0-3)

No Frings, No Defensive Organization

Without captain Torsten Frings TFC lacked any semblance of a defensive structure. Aceval and Harden are both too slow as center backs and without Frings their mistakes are only magnified.

The Late-Arriving Crowd

It was a cold, rainy, dreary day in Toronto and there were transit issues, but for a home opener I was thoroughly disappointed in the crowd. The lack of energy in the stands, in my opinion, contributed to TFC's sluggish start to the match.

Who Can Deliver A Cross

Probably one of those things that gets overlooked with Frings' injury is his delivery from corners and freekicks. I doubt there were five decent deliveries in today's match. Consistently balls did not get past the first line of San Jose's defense.

DeGuzman's First Game As Captain

I have to give credit JDG because after the defeat he brought the entire team over to the supporters to acknowledge our support during a rough match. These small things go a long way and show a touch of class.

Dream Job Winners Revealed

Perhaps it was a political decision but to choose TWO Dream Job winners appears to be an easy way out. TFC brass managed to get their 'pretty face' while at the same time ensuring that the supporters would not be disappointed with the appointment of Bobby. Best of luck to both winners and hopefully the opportunity is incredibly rewarding.
