EPL Fearless Predictions - Round #1

Another Premiership campaign means another edition of the world-famous Posts By Panos Fearless Predictions. Alright, so they aren't world-famous, but for a loyal fan base of 1000+ readers, well it does provide another viewpoint to each week's EPL matches. Let's begin with Round #1.

Arsenal - Sunderland (2-0)

Arsenal begin the post-RVP era with a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Sunderland. Either Giroud or Podolski will open their account for the Gunners as Sunderland fans will be asking when are they bringing in new players?

West Ham - Aston Villa (2-1)

West Ham re-introduce themselves to the Premiership with a solid outing against Aston Villa, scoring two goals, one on each side of halftime, to secure three points for the Hammers.

QPR - Swansea (3-1)

Mark Hughes takes his first step to ensure that QPR do not face the same relegation battle as they did in the prior season with a strong performance at home against Swansea. Junior Holliet turns out to be the buy of the season as he opens his account for QPR.

Fulham - Norwich City (1-1)

Without Clint Dempsey I struggle to see where Fulham will score goals from, while Norwich will be looking to impress their new manager by securing a point away from home on the opening day of the season. Furthermore, there is currently a negative cloud above Craven Cottage that will affect the morale of the squad.

West Brom - Liverpool (0-2)

Both teams have not won an opening day fixture in quite some time. Steve Clarke is in over his head, and I believe he will be the first manager fired this season. Things do not start off well as his squad loses by two goals to a Liverpool squad that wants to get off to a strong start.

Reading - Stoke City (1-1)

To be honest with you I was tempted to mark this game down as a bore 0-0 draw. However, Reading will want to excite their fans and will score a vital goal in the first half, only to have Stoke equalize with 5 minutes left to go in the match.

Newcastle - Tottenham (2-2)

In probably the marquee match-up of games to start the new season, both Newcastle and Spurs will play attacking football. However, their defensive shape will be compromised as both sides score two goals and settle for a draw.

Wigan - Chelsea (0-2)

For Wigan, opening the season against Chelsea is always going to be difficult, but at least it is only the first game of the season. The rejuvenation of Fernando Torres continues as he grabs one of the two goals to help secure the Chelsea victory.

Manchester City - Southampton (4-0)

Manchester City will simply obliterate the Saints as they begin their title defense with a comfortable drubbing. Would any of us disagree with the proclamation that Aguero will score two of City's four goals?

Everton - Manchester United (1-2)

Everton are notoriously slow starters and it will not surprise me at all if they lose their opening match at home to United by two or three goals. However, after Tim Howard's heroics against Mexico for the US, I can only see United squeezing two goals past his net.

OVERALL RECORD
0-0
